The WavePrint™ Map provides the most Complete picture of your eye ever available. This allows your doctor to plan a treatment that is personalized exactly to your unique eye.

What is a WaveScan® and a WavePrint® Map?

WaveScan technology provides a measurement and a visual representation of your vision based on the behavior of light waves. It compares light passing through your eye to the same light pattern from an eye that needs no vision correction. The WavePrint Map is the output of the WaveScan, it captures the unique imperfections of a person's visual path.

How does the WavePrint Map work?

The WavePrint Map shows us the refractive state of your eye-much the same thing as we try to do with glasses and an eye chart. The WaveScan™ measures the way light travels through your eye and compares it to the way light would travel through a "perfect" eye.

This determines the refractive errors or aberrations of the eye. Your doctor will use this information to plan a personalized treatment for you.

Does the WavePrint mapping hurt?

No.

What does a WavePrint Map look like?

The WavePrint Map is a brightly colored diagram of your vision. The different colors show your doctor how light is moving through your eye-for example, red shows areas in which light moves quickly, blue shows areas in which light is moving slowly.

How is the WavePrint different than other mapping systems?

The WavePrint Map provides information on more than just the surface of your eye. It reveals the way your entire eye processes light, allowing a more personalized treatment.

Why should I request a WavePrint Map?

The WavePrint Map allows your doctor to accurately assess whether you're a good candidate for laser vision correction. Anyone who is considering laser vision correction should obtain a WavePrint Map as the first step.

How accurate is WaveScan technology?

WaveScan technology identifies and measures imperfections in an individual's vision 25 times more precisely than standard methods used for glasses and contact lenses.

Does the WaveScan® hurt?

No, the WaveScan is a measurement device that you simply gaze into while it measures the vision imperfections in your eye.
