IntraLase

IntraLase is a femtosecond laser used to perform the first step in the LASIK procedure: creating the corneal flap. The creation of the corneal flap prepares the eye for the second step of the LASIK procedure, where the excimer laser is used on the inner cornea to correct vision.

The IntraLase method uses tiny, rapid pulses of laser light that pass through the top layers of the cornea to create microscopic bubbles at specific depth and position within the eye. Just prior to applying laser vision correction, the corneal flap is created by separating the tissue where the bubbles have formed.

Both the IntraLase and microkeratome flap creation processes provide a pleasant surgical experience and excellent results. Every eye is different and Dr. Mandava will review the safest and best flap creation method with you.
